The hard truth about publishing for a poet is very hard to swallow for some and I do not care what another person "who is posting away on Facebook" says. Poets and short story writers are not considered writers at all and have more to prove than a novelist ever will have to prove and unless you already have a name for yourself or a novel under your belt that went a long way you will never get a traditional publisher to take you in under their name. A poet and short story writer will put more heart and soul into their words but never be seen as a true author by the big dogs!

That is the truth of the matter and I have walked the false story lines of the waiting game and I decided I was not going to wait my life away. A traditional publisher will convince you that as a poet or poetess you are not a real writer and they will tell you this as they are shutting the door in your face. You have a choice to make if you are really wanting to publish, you make your dreams come true on your own or you wait for prince charming to ride in on his great steed of hopeless. We all as children believed in fairytales but as adults we know we have to fight for what we want and make it happen and if it never happens then we can at least say by golly I tried and gave it my all.

Last but not least, most poet's and poetesses that I read daily is only working their way up to write a novel, with every poem they write they are learning more and more everyday. Writing poetry is a test of many great things that can come true. There are many people who love to just post their poems and meet new people and that is one of the best parts poets find within each other, great friends! But for some it is like a school room just learning how you can get better at what you love to do. I have a couple books going and I have decided this, even if one makes a hit and a traditional publisher decide now I am good enough I will stay with the people who believed in me from the beginning! Unless of course they have a offer that cannot be beat"sorry Tc" lol. We all only have one life to live and whether you have dreams of being a author or anything else we deserve to do all that we can to make those dreams see the light of the day xxx
