Never to be forgotten

They sat high above the groud,
so true and fearlessly proud.
So tall they could almost reach
the beautiful clouds, to be seen
for the first time would leave you
in awe.

A city so strong and proud, coming
to it's knees as they were left to beg
and plead for mercy and peace.

Running in all directions not knowing
where to go, scared of what may happen
next and was this really it. Wondering
if their families were safe from harm, or
were they facing this tragedy afar.

The blue skies are now flaming with
fire, all around in disbelief and dispair.
Even building made so strong, could not
with hold this heat. Even they had been
defeated.

Men and woman alike risking their lives
as they do every day and night. This
battle was one they could not fight.

A city destroyed in a matter of moments,
peoples hopes and dreams ruined as they
fall to the ground. Another plane crashes
into the towers, now all hope of getting to
safety are devoured.

Smoke and fire fill the city, lungs to be left
to suffocate. The brutal smoke cannot be
escaped.

Towers now falling to the ground, pieces of
once great buildings are soon not to be found.

What had started as a beautiful morning, was
now nothing more than dust to be found on
a deadly blackened ground. Firefighters are
tormeneted by all the lives they could not save,
the twin towers now nothing more than burning
graves.

Rubble to be looked at by all, cheered on by
the men who had made our twin towers fall.
A city left with no more hope as they run away
from endless explosions.

A sad story was to be told by the eyes of all
that now lay cold. A city once held so strong
now cries for their families and loved ones
that are gone. Always in their hearts never
to be forgotten....
