Winters rain

Rain falls, whispering breeze
solitude to bring you to your
knees.

Freshness in the air, beauty
in the night sky. A winters
night I spy.

Snow flakes to hit the ground
trees heavy with ice, bitter
sweet memories.

The cold wakes the nerves back
up in your body, a life now it
seems that cannot be denied.

A smile tickles the side of
my mouth, remembering what
life is really about.
