She sits just beyond the river bank listening to the waters
as they break from shore, she is mesmerized by the sweet
comfort she feels just by being so close to the water.
She leans back on her hands feeling the breeze as it
softly tickles her hair against her neck and flutter across
her body, almost as if it is whispering endearments to her
as she rests by the shore.
She watches as the fish jump in and out of the water in
amazement at how easily it seems for them to fight and win
the battle of the currents that seem to try and hold them
back from finding the destination that they seek.
She is spellbound as she watches a beaver cutting down
twigs and swimming down river in hopes of building his home
again that the river has taken away, she giggles as she sees
him paddling his way back and forth with no worries of her by
the shore.
The birds are singing softly to their babies as she feeds her
young and teaches them how to take flight into the sky, knowing
this could be none other then goodbye. She puts her hands beneath
her head looking into the sky looking at the clouds that seem to
be making pictures only for her eyes. She drifts away into a peaceful
sleep, and the last thing she hears is the rivers everlasting peace.
Real life can sometimes bring out the best or worse in people. Writing/reading can help you understand the difference.
